NDIS Releases New Supports Lists

From the 3rd of October 2024, NDIS participants were only able to use their funding for approved NDIS supports. To make things clearer, the NDIS has now introduced three key lists to help participants understand what is and isn’t funded:

✅ NDIS Supports List – Items and services covered by NDIS funding.

❌ Non-NDIS Supports List – Things that cannot be funded by the NDIS.

🔄 Replacement Supports List – In some cases, if an item isn’t covered, a suitable alternative may be available.

NDIS Quarterly Report: Key Highlights

The latest NDIS Quarterly Report is out, providing insights into participant growth, funding trends, and key statistics from the past three months.

Here are some key takeaways:

Over 690,000 participants are now receiving NDIS support – a 1.9% increase from last quarter.

Approximately 12,700 new participants joined the scheme during the quarter.

In the December 2024 quarter, 23,679 children accessed Early Connections.

So far in 2024–25, 69% of new participants are children under 15, with this group growing at a faster rate than older participants.

The largest support category remains core daily activities, making up 52% of total payments.

For the quarter, 7% chose to have their plan managed by the NDIA, 65% preferred to use a Plan Manager and 28% of participants Self-Manage.

Total NDIS Scheme expenses are estimated to be $46.9 billion for 2024–25.
