NDIS Funded Music and Art Therapy to Change

The NDIS clarified funding rules, with changes to art and music therapy access from February 2025, emphasizing group sessions for inclusion.

While not classified as "evidence-based," these therapies are under review by the NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee to assess their value.

NSW Education Upgrades: Disability Access Portal

The New South Wales Department of Education is launching a cloud-based platform to enhance support for students with a disability. The new portal, built on Salesforce Education Cloud, aims to streamline resource allocation and reduce administrative burdens on schools.

NDIS Quarterly Report

The new NDIS Quarterly Report is out for the period: July- September 2024.

Key Notes:

  • More than 680,000 active participants are receiving support from the NDIS.

  • There were 29,284 children younger than 9 entering the scheme this quarter.

  • 4827 Participants have left the Scheme.

  • NSW has the highest amount of active participants in the country sitting at 202,154.

  • The average payments for the 12 months ending 30 September 2024 are $65,200

  • NT has the highest average annualised plan budgets and payments

Introducing changes to NDIS legislation for participants

The National Disability Agency invites current and prospective NDIS participants, their families and carers to attend information sessions to learn about changes to NDIS legislation.

They will be run over 2 days: Wednesday 4th December 2024 and Thursday 5th December.

NDIS Office Hours


The NDIA will be reducing its activity from close of business Tuesday 24 December 2024 to Wednesday 1 January 2025.Regular operations will resume on Thursday 2 January 2025.

If participants have questions or need help during the festive season, the National Contact Centre will continue to operate to assist with urgent enquiries between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm (local time) Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays.
